Andrea Tsurumi

Andrea Tsurumi is an illustrator and cartoonist who likes history, absurdity, dogs and monsters (in no particular order). Her comic, Andrew Jackson Throws a Punch, received a MoCCA Award of Excellence in 2013 and Dance Party was included in the 2013 Best American Comics notables list. Her comics have been published in The Graphic Canon of Children’s Literature (Seven Stories Press), Little Nemo: Dream Another Dream (Locust Moon Press), The Nib, The Brooklyn Rail, and Suspect Device, among others. After graduating from SVA with an Illustration MFA, she draws illustrations and picture books in New York City.
